Relocation assistance can provide support if you’re preparing to move or PCS. The programs and services defined below are provided by the Military and Family Support Center. In addition to the assistance program, a variety of other services may be available. Check the additional information topic to see what unique installation services are available to you.
If you are approaching a permanent change of station, or PCS, you may have questions about your upcoming move. As part of the Military and Family Support Center, the Relocation Assistance Program provides services and resources to help make this transition as smooth as possible. Below is a list of resources.
Newcomer's briefings are provided daily at the Soldier in-processing conducted at Building 41421. Newcomers Orientations are held monthly for Soldiers, Family members and DoD civilians. Lending Locker items, such as microwaves, basic culinary items, mats, and some baby items are available at ACS.
Installation Specific Information
The Soldier & Family readiness Center (SFRC) Relocation Readiness Program (RRP) and Lending Locker are especially designed to make transition into our community an easier, more pleasant experience.
Relocation Readiness Program (RRP)
RRP provides numerous resources, information, and classes for the Soldier and family upon relocation to Fort Huachuca. Newcomer Orientations are held by individual units. Reentry briefs are offered at the weekly in-processing briefing. ESL classes are offered at the installation (Conversational English) and are also available at Cochise College in Sierra Vista. There is a small fee for ESL classes depending on the sponsors grade at Cochise College. Outgoing Soldiers and Families are offered counseling, gaining installation information and coordination, sponsorship training, Overseas Orientations and access to the Lending Locker. Lending Locker
Our Lending Locker provides essential items primarily for the PCSing family while household goods are in transit. Our inventory includes cookware, dinnerware, small kitchen appliances and baby items including infant car seats. There are no linens.
Out-processing
Everyone who is out-processing must clear SFRC and Army Emergency Relief. No one else is authorized to sign clearance papers for these two organizations. SFRC maintains comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date information files on available civilian and military community resources.
