Contact information for key programs and services at this installation.
When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
All incoming personnel (officer/enlisted) will report to customer service in Building 87 for in-processing. Your sponsor will arrange an in-processing appointment once he or she has been notified of your arrival date. Incoming personnel will need to bring with them the "sealed envelope" received from your losing base. It contains all the documents necessary for in-processing. A checklist will be provided during your in-processing appointment. YOU MUST REPORT IN DUTY UNIFORM.
Be sure to keep your sponsor informed of your arrival date, time and airline. Let them know of any changes that may occur so that you can arrange for them to meet you at the airport. Talk to your sponsor about guest houses versus hotels early so that your sponsor can make arrangements for you. There is no 24-hour arrival checkpoint at Geilenkirchen.
You will fly into either Düsseldorf, Germany or Brussels, Belgium airport. Your sponsor will meet you in the area immediately after clearing customs, as long as you have made arrangements with him or her. In the event no one is there, you should have with you the telephone numbers of your sponsor and your gaining unit so you can call for assistance.
Transportation process for in-bound personnel – Bus service is no longer available. Newcomers must either be met by their sponsor, or be prepared to take a taxi. For the taxi procedure, speak with your sponsor.
Important documents to hand carry: Birth certificates for your children in order to register for childcare and/or school, passports, ID cards, family immunization records, school records for children, medical and dental records, military personnel records, and if seeking employment, bring school transcripts, DD214, updated resumes, SF 171 (if you have one, and Personnel Qualifications Statements). Your sponsor will provide you with phone numbers for all the services spread out between Geilenkirchen, Joint Force Command Brunssum and United States Army Garrison Benelux Brunssum that you will need upon arrival.
If you get married before you PCS, you must inform your unit/Military Personnel Section to ensure all dependents are accurately annotated on your orders before departure. Failure to do so will affect your command sponsorship status.
