Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. The Geilenkirchen Child Development Center and School Age Care Program have a Department of Defense (DOD) license to operate and they are nationally accredited through the Association for Early Learning Leaders (ELL). Please call DSN 314-458-4017 or commercial +49 2451 637216 for details.
The Child & Youth Program on Geilenkirchen has 56 full day Child Development spaces and 24 School Age spaces. The Geilenkirchen Child Development Center (CDC) provides full-day, Pre-Kinder wrap-around, and hourly care when space is available for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The School Age Care Program (SAC) provides before and after school care for children ages 5-12 years. Alternate care can be found at the JFC Brunssum Child & Youth Services which is located approximately 10-15 minutes away in Brunssum, The Netherlands.
Schools: All school-aged children attend AFNorth International School in Brunssum, NL, about fifteen minutes from the base. More information about the school can be found at http://afnorth-is.com.
Authorized Family Child Care Homes are not available at Geilenkirchen, since no on base housing is available.

JFC Brunssum Child Development Center (CDC)
Programs Offered -- The JFC Child Development Center provides full-day, part-day and hourly care when space is available for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
The JFC School Age Program provides before and after school care for grades Kindergarten through 5th grade.
The JFC Youth Center provides open rec from 1545 – 1800 to youth from grades 6th through 12th. This program is free of charge.
