If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is always available for emergency aid anywhere you may be. To reach the Red Cross Customer Care Team, call 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767). They can help with contacting individuals that will need to know where you are and what is happening.
The American Red Cross provides assistance for military personnel and their immediate families in times of emergency. Quick communication with home about family crisis is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes verification of death or serious illness, birth announcements to fathers deployed overseas and health and welfare reports resulting from loss of communication over an extended period of time.
Air Force Aid provides financial assistance in the form of no-interest loans or grants to assist with emergencies. To better serve the Air and Space Force communities, AFAS is introducing a streamlined application process that consolidates all emergency financial assistance requests into a single application. This change helps eliminate confusion, reduce delays, and ensure consistent and equitable service delivery across all eligibility categories.

Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities is a nonprofit organization assisting families in need of furniture and food. Services are based on income level as well as emergency needs call 850-244-2825.
Base Chaplain
The base Chaplain is available to provide spiritual guidance and comfort in emergency situations at 850-884-7795.
The base Chaplain hosts Mobile food pantry drives monthly
Victim Advocate
For immediate emergency assistance, contact 24-hour hotline at 850-884-7272. During duty hours please call Sexual Assault Prevention and Response at 850-884-1417/6094/1172.
Make sure that all your important papers are with you and NOT packed with your household goods. Also make sure that you have phone numbers for your First Sergeant, Command Support Staff (CSS), and your sponsor in case you have an emergency while you are traveling.
Emergencies happen without warning. Please contact your unit 1st Sergeant or the Hurlburt Field Command Post at 850-884-8100 for emergency assistance after normal duty hours.
