If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. Community College of the Air Force: The Enlisted Member’s College
The Community College of the Air Force is the largest community college system in the world, serving nearly 300,000 active-duty, guard, and reserve enlisted personnel. Enlisted personnel are automatically enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science degree for their career field, as the program leverages military training, professional education and general studies to satisfy the degree.

The Hurlburt Field Education Center plays a vital role in supporting the long-range goals of the 1st Special Operations Wing, Air Force Special Operations Command, and the Air Force as a whole. Its purpose is to develop and sustain a highly skilled, ready force by promoting professional enhancement and growth, as well as personal development. Through education, the program strengthens recruitment, retention, and overall readiness, ensuring Air Commandos remain prepared to meet the unique demands of special operations worldwide. The program provides excellent, cost-effective educational opportunities ranging from basic skills through graduate-level degrees supported through tuition assistance, testing, and counseling services. Additional counseling is available for the Community College of the Air Force, Commissioning Programs, Tuition Assistance, VA Benefits, Skillbridge, Air Force Credentialing Opportunities On-Line, and general education inquiries. Testing services are also available for career advancement, language and commissioning programs, professional military education, as well as college level testing. CLEP/DSST - College Credit by Examination tests are provided through the National Test Center/Northwest Florida State College at the Education Center, building 90220. Testing services are available for military personnel and their dependents. For a fee, civilian DoD employees, family members, and military retirees are approved for testing at Hurlburt Field. CLEP/DSST exams are not offered when NWFSC is closed for holidays/breaks.

Professional Military Education, WAPS, DLPT, DLAB, AFCT, TAPAS, EDPT and CDC testing are also available at the Hurlburt Field Education Center. Questions regarding these exams may be directed to: 1sofss.testproctor@us.af.mil.
Pearson Vue exams are offered via National Test Center. You can register online by visiting the Pearson VUE website. Test takers must have access to Hurlburt Field. Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT) examinees must contact local Test Control Officer for assistance with scheduling: 1sofss.testproctor@us.af.mil. Pearson Vue exams are not offered when NWFSC is closed for holidays/breaks.
