If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The Air Force Education Services program supports long-range Air Force goals for maintaining a high-quality force, and enhancing professional and personal development, recruitment, retention, and readiness. The program provides excellent, cost-effective educational opportunities - from basic skills through graduate level degrees through its tuition assistance, testing, and counseling services. Additionally, services for counseling with the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), Commissioning, Tuition Assistance, VA Benefits, Skillbridge, and General education needs are available. DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support) CLEP/DSST College Credit by Examination tests are provided by the National Test Center/Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC)/Hurlburt Field Education Center site office located on Hurlburt Field AFB, inside the Education Services Center, Building 90220.. Exams are offered on a walk-in basis at 0800 and 1130 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Military personnel can take each exam one time free of charge. Examinees must present a valid Armed Forces of the United states "Common Access Card," and one other state or government ID with signature (typically a state driver's license, or passport). Prior to testing, examinees should check with their university/college academic advisor to verify which CLEP/DSST credits will be accepted for institutional credit. For a fee, civilian DoD employees, family members, and military retirees are approved for testing at Hurlburt Field. See websites for further instruction. DANTES CLEP/DSST Exams are not offered when NWFSC is closed for holidays/breaks.

Professional Military Education Testing and Career Development Testing is available at Hurlburt. Unit Training Managers schedule the end of course CDC. Please call 850-884-6724 for PME testing.
Pearson Vue exams are offered via National Test Center NWFSC Hurlburt Field on Wednesdays. You can register online by visiting the Pearson VUE website. Exams are not free. Test takers must have access to Hurlburt Field. Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT) examinees must contact local Test Control Officer for assistance with scheduling: 1sofss.fsde.waps@us.af.mil. Pearson Vue exams are not offered when NWFSC is closed for holidays/breaks.
DOD SkillBridge and Military Tuition Assistance benefits briefings are held bi-weekly. Please contact 1sofss.fsde@us.af.mil for dates and times.
