If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The Air Force Education Services program supports long-range Air Force goals for maintaining a high-quality force, and enhancing professional and personal development, recruitment, retention, and readiness. The program provides excellent, cost effective educational opportunities - from basic skills through graduate level degrees through its tuition assistance, testing, and counseling services. Additionally, services for counseling with the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), Commissioning, Tuition Assistance, VA Benefits, Skillbridge, and General education needs are available. CLEP and DSST are now computer-based and the exams are now on a walk-in basis and will be given to military members at Education Center. National Test Center located at Hurlburt Field, Education Services Center, Building 90220, Room B Monday through Thursday at 8:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. For the speech oral portion; it's provide by the Test Proctor.
Testing fees are waived for military examinees. Examinees must present a valid Armed Forces of the United states "Common Access Card," and one other state or government ID with signature (typically a state driver's license, or passport). Prior to testing, examinees should check with the academic advisor at the school in which they are enrolled to verify which CLEP/DSST credits will be accepted. Tests for civilians, to include DoD employees, family members, and military retirees, are given at the Education Center at Hurlburt Field. There is a fee per exam payable at the time of testing.
Professional Military Education Testing is available at Hurlburt for PME courses (12, 14, AWC, ACSC, SOS). ACSC and AWC examinees must order their exams as directed in their student handbooks. Please call 850-884-6724/6790 for an appointment.
Career Development Course Testing is offered on Wednesdays by appointment at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Unit Training Managers schedule the end of course CDC.
