Legal Assistance

The Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, located in Building 90210, Room 255, provides legal services to active-duty, reservists and guardsmen on orders, and retired military members. They also provide services to all the previous listed individual’s identification card eligible dependents. This assistance estate planning, powers of attorney, and general advice on civil legal matters such as landlord/tenant, domestic, and consumer affairs issues. Civilian personnel pending deployment are eligible for estate planning services.

Notary public and power of attorney services are provided on a walk-in basis during their normal hours of operation. Legal assistance services are provided by appointment only on Mondays from 1 to 3 p.m. Wills are provided by appointment only on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. Wills for upcoming deployers are provided by appointment only generally on Thursdays. For all wills, a ticket number is required to make an appointment. Spouses can have their appointment together, but each need to provide a ticket number. Tickets can be retrieved at aflegalassistance.law.af.mil. Select "Legal Worksheets," “Estate Planning,” and answer the questionnaire. Once the form is completed, the website provides a ticket number (case sensitive). Call or visit the office with the ticket number(s) to schedule an appointment.

The Legal Office’s hours of operation are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office is closed daily from 12 to 1 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. Please call 850-884-7821 for more information and to check for other closures.
