On 1 April 2002, as part of the Army's Residential Communities Initiative (RCI), Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Family Housing was privatized with the formation of a partnership between the Army and Equity Residential Property Management Corp/Lincoln Development, LLC. The partnership of Lewis-McChord Communities, LLC continues to build new housing, renovate existing housing, build community centers and provide neighborhood linkages.
