To prepare for your employment search, hand-carry the following important documents with you rather than including them in your household goods shipment:

• SF-50 (if prior federal employee)
• Most recent civilian pay stub
• Sponsor's PCS orders
• Marriage Certificate
• List of references with contact information
• Letters of recommendation
• Most recent performance appraisal
• DD 214 (if prior military)
• SF 15 (Required for Disabled Veteran Status)
• VA Disability Letter
• Any other employment pertinent documents

The Employment Readiness Program (ERP) provides a full range of comprehensive employment services including career counseling, self-assessment, resume critique, licensure navigation, job search, networking, and interview preparation. The program serves as a resource for current, worldwide employment opportunities and job market trends from state, local and government agencies.

All Department of Defense ID Card Holders are eligible for ERP services. Please visit JBLM Armed Forces Community Service Employment Readiness to schedule a one-on-one counseling or sign up for a class. Some highlighted classes and seminars include:

The JBLM ERP also partners with the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council created by Cammo2Commerce to offer a paid military spouse internship called the Spouse Ambassador Program. The program provides spouses who are entering or re-entering the workforce a 12-week paid internship that fosters a flexible part time work-based learning environment that assists in developing key transferable skills needed to be successful for gaining meaningful employment. Partner funding provides minimum wage pay and a business clothing stipend to those selected for the program. No experience is needed to qualify for the program. My Career Advancement Account Scholarship

The MyCAA is a workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 with an annual fiscal year cap of $2,000 in financial assistance to eligible military spouses for the pursuit or maintenance (including continuing education courses) of a license, certification, or associate's degree necessary to gain employment in an occupation or career field.

Army Emergency Relief Scholarships

Spouses and children of active and retired Soldiers are eligible for educational scholarship programs.
