A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
Falcon Courts North (FCN) and Garden Terrace (GT) Youth Centers offer an open recreation program with comprehensive programs for youth ages 9 - 18 and specified programming for youth ages 6-8. The centers offer creative and supervised on and off base youth activities designed to be fun and promote physical fitness and develop lifelong recreation skills. Our youth centers are affiliated with the Boys and Girls Club of America and 4-H Clubs and partner with them in community support events.
The Falcon Courts North is located on 3830 E Scott Street in the Falcon Courts North housing area on McGuire section of base. The center's hours are Mon - Thurs 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Fri 3:00.p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Sat 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. 609-754-5437, DSN 312-650-5437.
The Garden Terrace Youth Center is located on 1279 Locust Street. The center's hours of operation are Mon - Fri 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Sat 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with summer hours 1:00 pm - 7:00 p.m. 609-562-5061, DSN 321-562-5061.
Lakehurst Youth Center in building 487 on the Lakehurst section of base houses the SAP program plus offers special youth programs and field trips as scheduled. 732-323-4043
DeCa and AAFES have summer hire employment opportunities such as commissary bagging, cashiers, inventory stocking etc. for ages 16 and up. AAFES also operates an on base Burger King which also offers additional job opportunities for teens. Teens 15 and up can earn extra money doing odd jobs for community residents such as pet sitting, moving lawns, house cleaning, gardening and other general labor tasks.

If you are relocating to JB-MDL we can put you in contact with a teen that can help you upon your arrival. Information about schools, sports, recreational activities and what's up at on base is available. A teen will have a better understanding of your problems and feelings about moving to a new community. Call any of our youth centers at the phone numbers listed above.
The SLO is available to assist military families with issues surrounding the education of their children. The SLO should be a first stop when seeking school-aged education-related information and guidance. School Liaison Specialists (SLS's) are available to assist transitioning students who are moving to the JB-MDL or relocating to another installation. The SLS's represent, inform and advise the command regarding school issues, assist families, educate schools about military culture and policies and initiate partnerships with local schools and communities. Youth Sports offers a variety of sports throughout the year for the whole Joint base community. They include soccer, basketball, flag football, baseball, track, bowling, golf and softball. The program focuses on competitive as well as non-competitive sports. Sports and fitness activities are developed and organized to enhance the emotional, physical, social and educational well-being of children. Youth sports is a growth experience rather than a limiting experience were all youth are provided the opportunity to play. All coaches are trained and certified. Base Amenities Available
The base movie theater offers movies Friday, Saturday and Sundays. The 87 Force Support Squadron (FSS) - formerly known as Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) - recreation facilities are located near the Dix Doughboy Field for easy access to the Bowling Center, Go-Carts, Indoor Swimming Pool, Batting Cages, Miniature Golf, and a full service gym at the Griffith Field House.
