Installation libraries

Installation libraries play a key role in Marine professional life. They offer academic and research resources and chances for career development. Marines can earn college degrees and certificates, update promotion packages, prepare to transition, retire and more.

Installation libraries are great for leisure too. They provide books, magazines, newspapers, eBooks, DVDs and audiobooks. Most locations also offer access to computers, internet and basic office equipment, like copiers and fax machines.

Installation libraries are also great community centers. They host book clubs, story times, game nights and multicultural activities. Some offer makerspaces and private webcam access for video calls with deployed service members. Programs vary by location so contact your installation library for details.

All Defense Department service members and their families have access to the DOD MWR Libraries. These free, online libraries are available 24/7 and offer an incredible collection for both adults and children.
