MCRD Parris Island Child Development Center

Parris Island Child Development Center opens at 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday. We offer quality care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. We also offer hourly care as space permits. While attending the Parris Island CDC, children will be offered breakfast and lunch as well as an afternoon snack. All meals are designed to fulfill USDA guidelines.

MCAS Beaufort Child Development Center

MCAS CDC is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. We offer care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. We also offer hourly care from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Hourly care is by reservation only. While attending the MCAS CDC children will be offered breakfast and lunch as well as an afternoon snack. All meals are designed to fulfill USDA guidelines. 

Saturday Hourly Care

Available at both MCAS Beaufort and MCRD Parris Island. Reservations are required by the Wednesday of each week, which will help us adequately schedule the center’s staff. South Carolina Certificate of Immunization is required for both locations with proof of the flu shot for the current flu season.

Programs Offered

Our programs include: hourly care for 6 weeks of age to five years (up to 25 hours per week), part-day preschool for three & four year olds, full day care for thirteen months to five years old. Our Parris Island Youth Center (YC) provides before and after care for five years (kindergarten) through twelve years of age and full day camp for this age group in the summer. All of Parris Island's programs for Children and Youth are inclusive; children with special needs are welcome.

Eligibility/Priority Care

The dependents of: active duty military, active duty reservists, retired military, DOD civilians & DOD contractors are eligible to attend CYT programs. The fees are based upon total family income. Priority care is given to single/dual active duty military that are stationed at Parris Island. There is an excess demand list, projected wait list and preference for care wait list.

Parris Island has one Child Development Center, and one Youth Center. However, dependents can use any CYT programs at Laurel Bay and MCAS Beaufort. The Parris Island Child Development Center offers a variety of child care programs. Following is a description of each: Full day developmental programs for pre-toddlers, toddlers and preschool children ages 11 months to 5 years of age. The full day program hours are 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The School Age Care program is a nationally accredited child care service for children ages 5-12 needing care before and after school. SAC provides a safe, supervised and age-appropriate environment with individual and group activities that develop the social, emotional, cognitive and physical potential of children.

SAC also offers full-day hourly care on school holidays and teacher in-service days as well as day camps during extended school breaks.

The New Parent Support Program is a professional team of social workers and nurses who offer education, counseling and support to expectant parents, adoptive parents or families with children five and under. NPSP helps families cope with stress, isolation, post-deployment reunions and the everyday demands of parenthood through a variety of programs including home visits, support groups, and Baby Boot Camp. Information/Appointments: 843-228-6565 New Parent Support (usmc-mccs.org).
