If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
The American Red Cross is available to assist in emergency situations 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Contact your nearest ARC chapter https://www.redcross.org.
The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society provides financial assistance and education, as well as other programs and services, to active duty and retired members of the Navy and Marine Corps, their eligible family members, widows and survivors when in need. Categories of assistance include food, rent, emergency travel, utilities, essential car repair, funeral expenses, emergency medical/dental assistance, and essential needs in the event pay is not received.
The main goal is to help each person who comes to us get support for their immediate needs. Our long-term mission is to help sailors and Marines become financially self-sufficient by learning how to better manage their personal finances and prepare for unplanned expenses.

No matter how well you plan, emergencies happen! Important documents (PCS orders, ID cards, passports/passport cards, legal documents, etc.) should be carried with you and not packed in your luggage or household belongings. Throughout your travels, don't forget to select a primary emergency contact and ensure you have several means of contacting your sponsor or unit.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties while traveling or PCSing, call the American Red Cross at 877-272-7337 (24/7) for assistance.
For on-base emergency assistance, call 911. If using a cellphone, the phone call will then be transferred to Naval Air Station Fallon emergency services.
