Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
Frequent deployments and separations are a way of life in the military. The Navy’s Deployment Readiness Program has been developed to help you thrive amid the dynamic environment of war time deployments, surge deployments and ongoing traditional deployments. Be proactive and visit your Fleet and Family Support Center for valuable information on ways this program can benefit you and your family before, during, and after a period of separation. Additionally, DOD and the Services have created several new web sites found in the Additional Resources section which address deployment issues for all family members.
Although Naval Air Station Fallon, is not generally considered a deploying duty station, some of the tenant commands are tasked to supply deploying detachments, thus deployment issues still affect the military community stationed here. The FFSC offers ongoing education and counseling services to military members and their families. Information and assistance in financial issues, emotional stability, employment options, transitioning concerns, and family life skills are just a few of the services offered. Military OneSource is an excellent 24-hour resource for information and assistance to all active duty service members and their dependents.
IA/GSA Pre-Deployment briefing appointments can be arranged for your convenience on a case-by-case basis. Post-Deployment counseling appointments are also offered by calling the FFSC at 775-426-3333 or through our Centralized Scheduling Center by calling 866-923-6478.
