If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The Education Center enables Service members and their families to reach their educational goals. It is a network of services and programs offered world-wide to benefit all Active duty personnel and their family members. Opportunities range from Certificates to Masters degree.

The Education Center offers assistance with on-base college enrollment, external degree programs, independent study courses and transfer credit, credit by examination, and various tuition assistance programs.
The following two universities have a representative available to enroll you in on base and online classes and to assist you in obtaining your educational objective:
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) at the Sigonella Center, offers certificates, associate, bachelor, and master's degrees in a variety of subjects such as aviation, aeronautics, business analytics, general studies, information technology, engineering, occupational safety, and management studies.
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) Europe offers certificates, associate, bachelor, and master's degrees in areas such as accounting, business administration, computer and information science, history, general studies, management studies, marketing, and social sciences.
UMGC also offers on-site Italian classes and an 18-credit Italian Certificate at a cost of $250.00 per credit or $ 750.00 per class (3-credit classes).
The representatives can be found on NAS 1, Bldg. 318, Monday through Friday from 0800-1630 and on NAS 2, Bldg. 623 (West Wing, Room 229A) on Mondays and Wednesdays. The universities can be reached at the following emails for additional information:
