If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The Education Center enables Service members and their families to reach their educational goals. It is a network of services and programs offered world-wide to benefit all Active duty personnel and their family members. Opportunities range from Certificates to Masters degree.

The Education Center offers on-base college enrollment, external degree programs, independent study courses, credit by examination and tuition assistance.
The following two universities have a representative available, at NAS 1, Bldg. 318, to enroll you in on-base classes and to assist you in obtaining your educational objective.Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Sigonella Center, offers undergraduate and graduate degree courses.
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) Europe offers associate and bachelor's degrees in 16 majors and 18 minors in areas such as accounting, business administration, computer and information science, history, general studies, management studies, marketing, and psychology. Master's Degrees are offered in several areas. UMGC does the testing for CLEP, DSST, and certain PearsonVue exams.
UMGC offers Italian classes and an Italian Certificate at a cost of $ 250.00 per credit - $ 750.00 per class.
