Navy Youth Sports and Fitness
Youth Sports and Fitness programs helps Navy families balance the demands of family life and military readiness by providing opportunities for children to engage in rewarding physical activity and by exposing children to positive lifestyle behaviors. Here at GTMO we provide children/youth aged 2-18 years of age with opportunities for motor skill development programs. As well as individual and team sport leagues. Examples of the sports offered: soccer, flag football, swim team, dance, cheerleading, basketball, and baseball. YSF also offers clinics throughout the summer and winter camps at SAC. Fees vary based on the type of sport being offered and registration is required to participate. Contact the Youth Sports and Fitness office at 757-458-2690 for more information.
All youth sports and fitness programs offered are volunteer ran. Volunteers are what make our sports seasons possible. If you volunteer coach and have children/youth/teens participate in YSF, and you can commit to the 6-8 week seasons, all of your youth participate for free. If interested in volunteering please email oasisteencenter1@gmail.com for a package and more information.

Youth Sponsorship Program
There is a growing interest in supporting military children as they move with their military family from one assignment to another. Listed below is a result of some of these initiatives in this area.
These initiatives are to help students and families focus more on what they're gaining instead of losing in relocating and make landing here in NSGB smoother. They'll be right there for the new students when they arrive, show them around, sit with them at lunch, introduce them to other kids, and let them know about fun things they can do in NSGB, and even correspond through email and Facebook prior to arrival to get acquainted and help them prepare.
Please contact the School Liaison at 757-458-4220, if you would like a youth sponsor for your child. The School Liaison (SL) also assists families when they PCS to/from the island; linking them with another (SL) or other similar resources before they get to their new duty location.
