Contact information for key programs and services at this installation.
A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good. This program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.
Hospitality Loaner Kits are available at the Fleet and Family Support Center and include pots, pans, dishes, toasters, coffee pots, ironing boards, etc. Your sponsor should secure the hospitality kit prior to your arrival and have it in your quarters. Loaner kits are initially available for 60 days. If your household goods have not arrived by that date, please contact FFSC to extend your time. No linens or pillows are issued as part of this kit and must be brought with you or purchased locally. Loaner furniture for family housing is issued by the Housing Office and will be in your quarters upon arrival.
An Indoctrination brief is regularly hosted by the Installation Command to provide information about services, recreation opportunities, employment and more. This briefing is available to all incoming personnel. Welcome Aboard Packets and other publications are available through the Fleet and Family Support Center. The relocation assistance counselor will provide current information, services, counseling and education concerning relocation. Please call the FFSC for more information.
This is a must know item for military personnel: Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba is not an out-processing activity nor is the Personnel Services Activity Detachment a separation activity. Military personnel are not authorized to separate or retire here; they must go to the continental United States to complete those steps.
Contact the FFSC for relocation/transition assistance. All members of the staff at the FFSC provide Information and Referral (I&R) services. The staff will be glad to help you with any I&R type questions you may have.
Sponsors should have the hospitality loaner kits in your quarters prior to your arrival. Please ask your sponsor to make sure this is completed. When returning the kit to the Fleet and Family Support Center, please make sure the items are clean and in the same condition as received. If items are damaged/missing, please replace them before returning the kit.
