Service providers are available with support both before and after a PCS move. Learn more about how to put the military’s relocation assistance program to work for you. Your Military and Family Support Center provides relocation assistance to help make PCS moves as smooth as possible. Resources include:
The Fleet and Family Support Center offers one-on-one consultations providing information about both military and community resources such as schools, housing, employment and recreation. Other services include Welcome Aboard Packets, and Lending Locker options.
The Lending Locker provides short-term loan of household items such as dish packs, tri-fold mattresses, pack ’n plays, tables and chairs. These items are available to personnel on permanent change of station orders.
Note: FFSC Northwest has suspended the Loan Locker at this time. Call 757-421-8770 for other options in the Hampton Roads area.
Foreign-Born Spouses
Fleet and Family Support can provide assistance in finding workshops and support groups in the community. Contacts for citizenship and immigration, English as a second language, military lifestyle, and community and military resources.
Relocation Assistance
Please make sure to check in with your Northwest relocation specialist at FFSC Northwest at 757-421-8770. Relocation specialists can provide a number of different services to help you with your relocation needs. Some of the services provided include one-on-one relocation counseling to assist with relocation planning, welcome aboard packages and Lending Locker options to provide household items to relocating personnel while their property is en route.
Newcomer's Briefs are held by individual commands. FFSC Northwest does not offer a base Newcomer's Brief; however, FFSC will assist the command or the service member upon request.
