Contact information for key programs and services at this installation.
When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
Upon arrival, you should report to your unit CSS for initial processing. For more information, please visit https://www.ramstein.af.mil/PCS-Info/Newcomers-Info/
Members will receive Ramstein In-processing information from their sponsor and CSS. The Newcomer Orientation is held every Wednesday of the month in-person at the Community Center, Bldg 412. Register on Appointment Plus: https://booknow.appointment-plus.com/9rm3mcns/
Your sponsor and your command will be instrumental in helping you adjust to the new area. The Ramstein Military and Family Readiness Center staff is also available to help you during your tour in Ramstein. Resources may be found via https://www.ramstein.af.mil/PCS-Info/Newcomers-Info/
Sponsorship
Your gaining unit should assign you a sponsor and will provide you with current information that will assist you with your relocation. Make sure you exchange contact phone numbers and email addresses which will enable you to stay in touch before your permanent change of station. You should maintain contact with your sponsor while in transit and after arrival to your new location.
If you don't hear from your sponsor within 60 days of your report date, you should contact your new unit and they will assign you a sponsor.
Your sponsor can request a P.O. Box for you 90 days prior to arrival. To do this, you must provide a copy of your orders to your sponsor. You can use the P.O. Box to start forwarding your mail, especially items that need up to several weeks lead time for an address change.
Temporary Lodging
Make temporary lodging arrangements as far ahead of your arrival as possible. Lodging facilities are located at Ramstein, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Vogelweh and Sembach Annex. They provide family, officer and enlisted quarters on a priority basis to all military and authorized civilians relocating to the Kaiserslautern Military Community. People on temporary duty or leave are accommodated on a space-available basis only.
To make reservations, you can call the central reservations desk office at 314-480-4920 or 06371-45-4920. The Ramstein Lodging Front Desk is open 24 hours and can be reached by calling 314-480-4960/4900 or 011-49-6371-47-4960/4900. The Kaiserslautern Military Community billeting office is located at the Ramstein Inn in Building 3336 on the lower entrance.
It is extremely important that your sponsor and your unit are aware of your travel plans. Keep them informed!
When the sponsor meets the unaccompanied member at the airport or PAX terminal, the first stop on base should be the Dormitory Reception Center to be assigned a room.
If an individual arrives on a weekend, holiday or down day, the sponsor can stop by DRC one day prior to get keys to a hospitality room until the member is able to contact DRC.
