Like many other overseas locations, Ramstein Air Base can be a challenging environment for active-duty and civilian spouses who are seeking employment. It is not uncommon for applicants to wait six months or more to gain a job commensurate with their education and/or previous job experience.
There are many resources available to assist with writing your resume and providing basic career guidance. Visit the Ramstein civilian jobs website or the Ramstein Air Base home page employment fact sheet to start exploring employment opportunities on base.

If you are separating within 18 months or retiring within 24 months, call the Military and Family Readiness Center to schedule your mandatory Transition Assistance Program classes.
Members must attend an Initial counseling briefing prior to registering for the Preseparation Counseling and Transition Goals, Plans and Success mandatory workshops. The workshop includes: Department of Defense/Air Force Core Curriculum, a Department of Labor Employment workshop, a Veterans Administration benefits and services briefing and additional briefings from the Legal Office, TRICARE and the Separation History and Physical Examination nurse.
The last step in your transition process will be completing a Capstone event to finalize your TAP process and document mandatory Career Readiness Standards. If you have any questions about our TAP services, contact the M&FRC.
