Check-in Procedures

Upon arrival, all military personnel must first report to their squadron's Commander Support Staff. Your CSS will schedule you for an appointment at the Recce Town Welcome Center where you will experience one-on-one, one-stop-in-processing. The Recce Town Welcome Center is located in the Community Center. If the mission permits, your sponsor should accompany you to this appointment. If you are married, you are encouraged to bring your spouse/family to this appointment. You will meet with Military Personnel Flight, Comptroller and Military and Family Readiness, where you will be scheduled for a mandatory Newcomers Orientation (Wing Right Start), First Duty Station Officer Training and First Term Enlisted Course (if applicable). The Welcome Center is open for appointments Tuesday through Thursday, starting at 8 a.m.

Required items for your initial appointment: Individual duty assignment worksheet, MPF In-processing Data Worksheet (initiated by CSS), orders and any amendments, envelope from your losing base, basic military training graduation/ tech school certificates if applicable, all travel receipts. If you acquired or removed any dependents en route, bring legal documentation of such, i.e., marriage license, birth certificate, etc.

Arrival After Duty Hours

The lodging office, or "Gold Country Inn," is the base's 24-hour arrival point, located at 5786 A St. The main office is snuggled between the dormitories. Directional signs are posted on base to ease your arrival. Once there, lodging personnel will assist you in contacting your sponsor if your sponsor did not meet you at the airport or a previously-arranged designated location. Upon notification, your sponsor should meet you at the arrival point.

A statement of non-availability is required from the Gold Country Inn for reimbursement of off-base lodging costs. Therefore, ensure you check in with the Gold Country Inn before booking off base lodging.

What to do if you get married en route

If you get married en route during your PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as they are given to you. The military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow the proper procedures.

After your arrival:

• If your sponsor does not meet you upon arrival, contact your sponsor immediately
• If you are interested in on-base housing contact the Balfour Beatty Communities Management and Leasing office at 530-788-9500 or visit https://www.bealeafbhomes.com/.
• For a list of available local rental properties visit the website.
• Contact the carrier to arrange delivery of your household goods.
• Carefully inspect all furnishings upon delivery and annotate any damages or loss. Notify the carrier of your intent to file a claim for loss or damages within 75 days of delivery of household goods through the Defense Personal Property System website.
• Notify family and friends you have arrived at Beale and provide them with contact information

Travel Planning

It is always a good idea to plan your PCS move well in advance. Consider weather conditions, lodging arrangements along the way, route planning road conditions and plan for the unexpected.
