GOVERNMENT HOUSING
On-base housing
There are 50 family housing units available for military personnel. We have some of the best housing that you will see in the Navy, and we continually strive to ensure you receive the highest quality service. All furniture and appliances are provided in the housing units and cannot be removed. Family housing is unable to store your excess furniture, so please limit what you bring.
Application
Applicants for government quarters will submit an Application and Assignment to Military Family Housing, DD Form 1746, along with a copy of their orders to the Housing Office. Application forms and orders may be submitted by email in person by the sponsor or by a member of the sponsor's immediate family. The application may be submitted at any time following the receipt of homeport or PCS orders. The housing organization, upon receipt of the member's application, will provide the member with a Status of Housing Availability to inform them of the conditions of assignment to, or the availability of Military Family Housing.

Eligibility
Military family housing is available to active-duty service members with command-sponsored family members, married active-duty members who are both assigned to Chinhae and Department of Defense civilian employees with command-sponsored family members and transportation agreements.
Eligibility includes single parents with legal custody of command-sponsored children who live with them for at least nine consecutive months of the year. In some instances, people eligible for housing may not be assigned housing or housing may be unavailable.
Availability
On-base housing is generally available to all command-sponsored active-duty personnel with minimal or no waiting periods. Playgrounds are located within housing areas. Youth center, picnic areas, gym, bowling center, commissary, exchange, chapel and library are within walking distance to on-base housing.
Household Goods
Prior to shipping your HHG, contact the Commander, U.S. Navy Region Korea Regional Housing Office in Chinhae, Korea by calling DSN 315-763-5454 or commercial 011-82-503-363-5454, or by emailing the CNRK Regional Housing Office at CFACFamilyHousing@fe.navy.mil. Local and on-base storage for excess HHG does not exist. On-base housing in Chinhae is fully furnished. Personnel living on base will be limited to 2,500 pounds (net) or 25% (net) of weight allowance, whichever is greater. Bringing furniture or large appliances are not necessary. Also, please note that the government-provided furniture in your quarters cannot be removed. Members who receive authorization from the chain of commander to reside off base will be authorized the full weight allowance listed in the joint travel regulations.

Rental Payment for Military Members:
Rental payments will be made in the local currency to prevent members from losing money as a result of currency exchange rate fluctuation. Only a month-to-month payment plan is authorized. Utilities and rent payments shall be made separately.
For paying the monthly rent and utility, Service member have two options.
If Service Members pay by cash should use the rent receipt provided by the HSC for each payment to avoid errors and submit the copy of the receipts when they terminate their lease.
Delinquent rent or utility payments will be reported to the member’s chain of command by the HSC.
The rent and utility will be charged until the very last day of your stay until completely move-out.
DOD Civilian Contract:
One year advanced payment including monthly rent and utility will be made in U.S. dollars to prevent members from losing money as a result of currency exchange rate fluctuation. However, it can be changed according to each organization’s policy and instruction.
It is highly recommended that your lease should be 90% or less of your authorized Living Quarters Allowance. We’re not responsible for possible complications or financial problems that may result from using the maximum amount of authorized LQA.
You should submit a copy of the receipt of the LQA payment to both the landlord and the HSC.

Temporary Lodging Allowance Information
TLA begins when the military member and dependents arrive at the permanent duty station and government quarters are not available. The member has to report to the Command Pay Processing Administrator prior to payment of TLA.
On arrival:
All temporary lodging facilities must be within the vicinity of the PDS. Members will be advised to aggressively seek permanent quarters, keep an accurate record of expenses for lodging and to register and inform Headquarters Service Company at least every 10 days to update progress in obtaining permanent quarters. The initial entitlement to arrival TLA is based on the member’s arrival date in Korea and is not to exceed the 60-day limitation. If a member exceeds 60 days, then approval from the regional commander is required.
On departure:
Payment of TLA upon departure from the PDS where government quarters are available will not exceed one day. For non-government quarters, TLA will not exceed 10 days.
How TLA is Processed
HSC receives an application form from the member and inputs the information in the enterprise Military Housing system. The member shall provide the TLA application form along with a lodging receipts to HSC for review every 10 days. The TLA application form is signed by HSC and forwarded the CPPA so that they can upload it to the Transaction Online Processing System for the TLA payment.
