DLA Aviation is the aviation demand and supply manager for Defense Logistics Agency with more than 4,000 civilian and military personnel in 20 locations across the United States supporting more than 1,879 major weapon systems. It is the U.S. military’s integrated material manager for more than 1.7 million national stock number items, industrial retail supply and depot-level reparable acquisitions. DLA Aviation plays a pivotal role in supporting our Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force services by providing targeted solutions and full-spectrum logistics support.
In 2010, the name of the aviation supply and demand chain changed from Defense Supply Center Richmond to DLA Aviation – better representing the supply chain’s core mission.

Check-in procedures
Military Personnel - Should report directly to the Military Personnel Officer, Building 46, 5th Floor.
Civilian Personnel - Should report to the Human Resources Office, Building 46, 1st Floor, Room #134.
The military and civilian personnel staff will guide you through the necessary procedures to successfully complete your in-processing.
Car registration and seat belts - Drivers and passengers must wear seat belts at all times while in a moving vehicle. The Visitor's Center located off Strathmore Rd will provide additional information.
Under Virginia law, the driver and all front seat passengers must wear a safety belt. A driver transporting anyone through age 15 must ensure that the child is properly secured in a safety belt, booster seat regardless of where the child is seated in the vehicle. Virginia law requires that children under 6 years of age be restrained in a child safety seat that meets federal standards.
Defense Service Network (DSN) Dialing Instructions
The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense (DoD). Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by world-wide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation. When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included. Please note that long distance charges may be incurred. Richmond DLA is 695.
