If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. Eielson AFB Education Services is the central focal point for Education and Training opportunities for all military (Active, Reserve, and Guard), DOD civilians, dependents and retirees in the local area. Available programs include educational counseling, TA briefings, and assistance with education goals in the Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC). Other opportunities include: Community College of the Air Force degree programs for enlisted military personnel and job-related education and training.
Services include testing, career development courses, CLEP/DANTES, professional military education correspondence courses, and tuition assistance/scholarship information.

There are three major universities at Eielson. Information on the University of Alaska, Fairbanks can be found online. UAF offers master's degrees in both public administration and business administration via live satellite; bachelor degrees in business administration, science technology and interdisciplinary studies; and a variety of associate degrees via traditional classroom.
Information on Wayland Baptist University can be found online. They provide a four-option major in its Bachelor of Applied Science and a Masters program in Education, Counseling and Public Administration.
Thomas Edison State College provides flexible, high-quality, collegiate learning opportunities for self-directed adults. They offer associates, bachelors, and master's degrees, as well as certificate programs. From accounting and sociology, to criminal justice and aviation, students can concentrate in more than 100 areas of study to complete their degrees.
