Military Housing Office
Personnel must report to the Military Housing Office (MHO) within two (2) duty days of arrival. This is a necessary part of in-processing at Eielson AFB regardless if you will be residing on or off the installation. You will need to schedule an appointment with a Housing Counselor to receive a Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) briefing and if you will be living in Privatized Housing, you will be required to complete a move-in brief before we can send your housing referral to Mayroad You will need to bring a copy of your military orders, amendments, (if applicable), and your Common Access Card (CAC) to your appointment.
The MHO offers a variety of support services to include referral services for on-base housing, assist with locating housing accommodations in the local community, help Service members understand lease terms, assist with resident and landlord dispute resolution, and provide oversight for privatized housing.

Unaccompanied Housing
Personnel that are arriving unaccompanied to Eielson AFB, AK who are in the grades of E1-E4 are required to be assigned to Airmen Dormitories. Senior Airmen with 3 years TIS or more do not qualify for dorm room assignment unless command directed for mission requirements. Currently, we do not have established unaccompanied living quarters for NCOs, SNCOs, nor Officers, however, personnel that fall within those ranks will still report to the MHO for assistance. Your sponsor will hold primary responsibility for ensuring that dorm eligible personnel have a room reserved and ready for them upon their arrival.

Eielson AFB is located approximately 10 miles south of North Pole and about 20 miles South of Fairbanks. Off-base housing around Eielson AFB can range between $1,000-$2,100/month without utilities and more if utilities are included. At Eielson AFB, military family housing is privatized. Mayroad owns the family housing and is responsible for maintaining, repairing, constructing and managing the community.
