Child Care

PLEASE NOTE: Please contact the Child Development Center directly for the most up to date policies/guidance as the following information may change with short notice. Some of the programs offered by the McRaven Child Development Center: Hourly care children will be accepted on a space available basis only. Reservations may be made by calling 605-385-2488 or DSN 312-675-2488. Full-time care may be contracted for up to one year at a time. If you are interested in full-time care, you must fill out an application for care on www.militarychildcare.com to be placed on the waitlist. You may also contact the Child Development Center at your current base and obtain a DD2606 Request for Care. Complete the form and mail it to: 28 FSS/FSFC, 1314 LeMay Boulevard, Ellsworth AFB, SD, 57706 or find the director's email on the www.ellsworthfss.com website. You will be assigned a place on the waiting list based on the date that the form is received at the center.

The McRaven Child Development Center is designed to promote the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and language development of children, while nurturing their self-esteem and creativity. The play-oriented curriculum offers a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities for ages six months through completion of kindergarten. This center boasts its accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Registration -- Before a child's first admission, a parent or sponsor must present the child's immunization record and complete an AF Form 1181 (Child Care Permanent Record).

Costs -- Rates for full-time care are based on annual income. Proof of income is required before being assigned a rate. Hourly care may be available. Please call the Child Development Center at 605-385-2488 or DSN 312-675-2488 for rates and availability. Weekly care is paid in advance and hourly care is due when the child is picked up.
