College/Technical Training Overview

If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.

Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO.  These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals.  To contact a career coach call 800-342-9647 or visit https://myseco.militaryonesource.mil.

Adult and community education programs are offered through the base Education Center and the Career Learning Center of the Black Hills. They have numerous programs designed to meet the needs and interests of members of area communities and is supported through class fees. Fees vary depending on the class. Literacy programs, GED courses, citizenship, and English as a second language are also available. Classes are open to the public regardless of educational background and are presented in a non-competitive, informal atmosphere. Choose to explore a new idea, develop a new hobby, learn a new skill, and meet new people. 

College

The base Education Center is here to assist you with your educational needs. The Education Center staff provides educational counseling services, testing services and is the point of contact for Community College of the Air Force and information on local colleges and universities as well as Distance Learning options.
