The Ellsworth Area Defense Counsel Program is one of the great strengths of the Air Force military justice system. The Area Defense Counsel program is set up so that the ADC has no direct command pressure from local commanders. The ADC office is a tenant organization with its command structure in Washington DC and at Travis AFB, California. The ADC does not fall within any local chain of command; we are always free to act independently and in the best interests of our clients when they need advice or are facing a disciplinary or adverse action. If you find yourself in a position where you require the services of the ADC, remember that you will be in an attorney-client relationship.
