If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
Army Emergency Relief, commonly known as AER can assist with a variety of requests ranging from first month’s rent/deposit to inital basic essential furniture to emergency travel. Each request for AER is assessed by an AER Officer on a case by case basis. AER is located in the ACS Center, Bldg. 1526, hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To start the process, visit Fort Carson Army Emergency Relief or call 719-526-4783. After hours assistance is avaialble via the American Red Cross at 877-272-7337.
