Youth Center: Offers various recreational, educational, and social programs for middle and high school age teens. Located in Bldg. 1950, it provides a broad framework for developing lifelong skills designed to enhance a child's future. Army youth program standards, as well as affiliation with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and National 4-H, ensures a variety of wholesome, fun, and interesting program choices for pre-teens and teens to participate in. Programs range from sports and fitness programs to health programs to arts, leisure and recreation activities to after school programs (grades 6-12). For information, call 719.526.2680.
Youth Sports and Fitness: This program encourages children between the ages of 3-18 to foster a healthy and active life-style through sports and athletic activities. Take advantage of Start Smart programs for preschool-aged children or sign your child up for team sports, athletic activities and participate in after-school programs. CYS registration and annual sports physicals are required for participation.
Does your child have 101 questions about your next duty station? If so, let a youth sponsor answer them. Youth sponsors connect with children before arrival at Fort Carson and provide them with information about their new community and answer questions from a youth perspective, while being guided by adults in the CYS youth program and the schools. Upon arrival, a youth sponsor will meet your child and can arrange community and school tours. For details or to request a youth sponsor, call the School Liaison Office (SLO) at 719.526.1101.
