Parent Central
To start the process, you'll visit Parent Central. Forms and information are available on the Fort Carson Child & Youth Services webpage or you can call 719-526-1101.
Fort Carson offers Family Child Care (FCC). Providers offer age-appropriate activities in an environment which is nurturing and homelike. The small group size allows children to develop close relationships to their caregiver and the other children in the group. FCC providers are also able to accommodate a variety of work schedules. Providers in home-based care follow the same guidelines and training schedule as the CYS center-based programs. For info, call 719-526-1101.
Fort Carson's child care programs consist of full-day and hourly childcare for children six weeks to 5 years old. They provide a creative environment for your child with physical growth and educational activities as part of the program. The 6 CDC's include Aspen, Cheyenne Mountain, East, Ivy, Monarch & West. All are DOD certified and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Depending on the time of year there may be a waiting list. For info or registration call 719-526-1101.
Fort Carson offers Before and After School care for youth in grades K-5. Transportation is provided to and from on-post schools. Full day care is available for school out days. Camps are offered throughout the year in coordination with the District 8 school calendar. Several clubs are offered during regular programming, including a homework and computer lab, photography, 4-H and Boys and Girls Clubs of America programs. For info, call 719-526-1101.
Special Needs Accommodation Process: Children who have special needs are required to be staffed through SNAP before admission into CYS programs and/or activities. The SNAP is a comprehensive group of professionals which assist in determining the least restrictive environment for a child or youth who requires specialized childcare or activities. It identifies the most appropriate child care program or activity placement for health issues, developmental delays, physical, social, emotional, learning or behavioral concerns. As a parent you are a vital member of this team. For info, contact the Army Community Service Exceptional Family Member Program at 719-526-0400.
