Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
All incoming military personnel report to their individual Commands/units and sponsor for each branch specific orientation. Each branch of military has their own reporting in and after hours procedures; please let your Command and Sponsor know when you are arriving and where you are staying. Fort Meade is a large post and bus transportation is very limited on post. Incoming personnel will need a vehicle to get around on post. There are no car rental agencies on Fort Meade, but many car rentals agencies are available at the Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and the surrounding area.
For Army personnel who are going to be assisgned or attached to U.S. Army Garrison Fort Meade, Partner and tenant U.S. Army units must attend a mandatory five-day In-processing session upon arrival to the installation. Service Members will also attend the Newcomer's Orientation - Joint Service session where they will receive a welcome from the Installation Commander and receive briefings about support services provided by the installation. Garrison In-processing week will start based upon the day the Service Member sign into their unit or the next duty day. Attendance at all 5 days is required to complete in-processing. Upon completion of this In-processing session, all Soldiers will have met the Department of the Army mandatory training requirement in completing 16 hours of Master Resiliency Training, along with completing all other related in-processing requirements prior to reporting to their unit for duty.
