Army Housing Office (AHO) is the Army's Public/Private Venture program whereby the Army has partnered with the private sector to privatize on-post housing.
AHO is about partnering with the private sector and meeting the AHO goals and objectives for a better quality of life for active-duty soldiers and their families. The Army's AHO liaison office provides oversight and support and liaison services, oversees tenant relations and protects the interests of the U.S. government, military services and families.
Privatized housing on Fort Meade is managed by Corvias and consists of 2,628 family housing units in six neighborhoods and an apartment complex with 434 apartments. Fort Meade houses all service branches stationed within the Baltimore/Washington corridor.
Privatized military family housing is not mandatory. Accompanied military members and their families have the option to choose privatized family housing located on post or select from many off-post prospects.
For more information, visit the Army Housing Liaison Office.
For information on availability, eligibility and the application process, please visit Corvias for family housing and Reece Crossings for the apartments.
The Housing Services Office provides limited referral services. Please see below some search engines for locating off-post rental properties. We also have many brochures with information on apartments and townhouses for rent in the local area. Our office manages the rental partnership program. We maintain an Excel spreadsheet of properties in the program. These are apartment and townhouse communities that rent to military and Department of Defense employees with a 5% discount and do not charge for application fees or require a security deposit. You will be required to make your rental payment with a direct deposit. We recommend that you visit any property during the day and night before deciding where to live.
