Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. FCC is a child care option offered to eligible families through CYS for ages 4 weeks to 12 years of age. FFC is provided by military family members working as independent contractors in individual housing units located on Ft Meade. FCC Providers receive the same training and support as CYS facility-based staff. FCC Providers must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. A monthly briefing is held for anyone interested in becoming a certified provider. Orientation training is held 6 times during the year. Four centers on post provide child care services for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. All the CDC’s at Fort Meade have earned accreditation from the National Association of Education of Young Children. Programs include Full Day Care and Hourly care.
The Fort Meade Child Development Centers provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum, Teaching Strategies- The Creative Curriculum®. It is research-based and supports the development of the whole child. Creative Curriculum is designed to meet each child at their developmental level and challenge them to achieve the next level. The Child Development Centers use high-quality, comprehensive resources to empower our staff to intentionally teach and care for our youngest learners during the most critical and formative years of development.

Hours of Operation

SAC Programs on the Installation
The SAC program supports working families who are in need of school-age care for the elementary school-age children, grades K-5th. SAC offers before and after school care and full day care on school closure days. A full day summer program is held in one week sessions (sessions are based on Anne Arundel County Public Schools summer break). The SAC program is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and is affiliated with the Boys and Girls Club of America and 4-H.
