When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
All soldiers arriving at the National Training Center must report to the NTC and Fort Irwin Replacement Detachment to begin in-processing. The Replacement Detachment is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Replacement Detachment will provide temporary lodging for unaccompanied soldiers E1-E5 during the in-processing cycle. The Active Guard Replacement Detachment is located in building 109, Langford Lake Rd, Fort Irwin, CA 92310. The telephone numbers are 760-380-9095/4747/3006; DSN 312-470-9095/4747/3006. If you arrive after duty hours, report to the Command Duty Section, NTC Headquarters, building 988. The telephone numbers are 760-380-3750; DSN 312-470-3750. Soldiers must bring their leave form, finance records, medical and dental records and five copies of their orders.
The NTC Replacement Detachment can provide you with information about the best mode of transportation from servicing airports. The Mandatory Newcomers Briefing is held every Friday at the NTC Replacement. We encourage family members to attend the orientation. All newly arrived soldiers must attend the Key Leader Newcomers Briefing. If you have completed all in-processing, and signed into your unit, you must return to building 109 on Friday morning to attend the command briefing. For those families that are staying in Barstow, Victorville area, or the Marine Corps Logistics Base, there is a satellite Army Community Service located on 512 Barstow Rd., called the Military Connection & Resource Center at 760-256-5751. Both ACS (building 109, Fort Irwin) and MCRC offer a lending closet with items to include kitchenware, flatware, dinnerware, glassware, microwaves, card tables w/chairs and some baby items.
