Shipping Pets

All kennel facilities require the owner to verify their animal is current on required vaccinations Rabies and distemper parvo combination vaccine and the majority of facilities require the Bordetella vaccine every 6 to 12 months. Requirements vary by location.

The policies at hotels and lodging facilities in Barstow vary. Some facilities do not allow pets; others allow pets depending on how many, the type and whether they are housebroken. Please ask for hotel policies while making your reservation.

The Landmark Inn Hotel on-post will only allow pets if the boarding facility on post Paws & Claws is full. A statement of non-availability from the kennel must be provided to the Landmark Inn prior to bringing a pet to the hotel. For animals that are allowed to stay at the Landmark Inn a $50 one time fee at anytime. Must have proof of vaccination upon arrival. The maximum of two pets allowed per visit.

Do not leave your pet unattended in a vehicle. It is a crime to leave a pet alone in a car in the state of California.

Traveling with pets

For all international or domestic travel contact your on-post veterinarian for travel requirements. International travel preparations typically need to begin a few months in advance. For domestic travel health certificates are required for air travel (good for 10 days) and for ground travel (good for 30 days). Please Contact Veterinary services at 760-380-3025 located on Critter Pathway.
