Loan Closet

The Relocation Readiness Program Loan Closet offers basic household items for temporary loan to families awaiting arrival of their household goods shipment. Please contact 760-380-3776/2399. Please have a copy of orders on hand before arriving at ACS Fort Irwin so we can lend you loan closet needs.

Contact Army Community Services if you are in need of any basic household goods at Building 109 Langford Lake Road or call  760-380-3776/2399. 

Eligibility: Soldiers, Family Members and Civilian Employees within 60-days of arrival and departure to and from Ft Irwin, CA are eligible to use the Loan Closet. A copy of the Soldier’s PCS orders are required. *Please note: Loan Closet items will not be issued after you have cleared the installation.* Issue Most items are issued for an initial 30-day period and a liberal extension of an additional 30 days will be granted if needed (call 380-3776, 2399). Extensions beyond the 60-days will be considered if the circumstances warrant. Please see the Relocation Readiness Manager if you need to keep the items beyond 60-days. *Vacuums will be issued for one day (24 hours).* Return: Please honor the needs of your fellow Soldiers, Family Members and Civilian Employees who are waiting on items from the Loan Closet. Our inventory is limited. In order to serve the needs of everyone in a timely and equitable manner, we ask that you return your items on or before your due date. Return all items in CLEAN and SERVICEABLE condition. Overdue Notification Process The Relocation Staff members will make 3 attempts via phone or email requesting the return of borrowed items that are overdue. If you do not respond we will then request assistance through your chain of command. Replacement of Items: Borrowers will replace damaged or lost items with identical items when possible, or like items when it is not possible to buy the exact brand. An exception to the “like item” policy is our EZ Beds which will be replaced with the exact item, size and brand. Fragile, Expensive, and Limited Quantity Air mattresses are both fragile and expensive. We have purchased EZ Beds for the convenience of our Solider Families. We limit the issue of EZ Beds to one per family. An Alternate to the EZ Beds are our military style cots. Your replacement cost for EZ Bed (Q) is $250.00. Air mattresses are a tempting toy/trampoline for the little ones and if damaged, will be an unneeded expense for you and your family. EZ Beds will be inflated upon return and you are welcome to inflate them prior to issue.
