Temporary Lodging

With the popularity of recreational travel to Alaska and the large number of official travelers, U.S. Army Alaska Lodging strives to offer the finest temporary lodging to both official and space-available travelers. The popularity of Alaska means lodging is usually 100% booked from April through September. For the best chance of a successful booking, it is recommended guests make reservations as soon as they are eligible or receive permanent change of station/temporary duty travel orders. For reservations at Holiday Inn Express on Fort Wainwright (Building 3402), call 907-370-0999, or go visit our website 24 hours a day to reserve a room. Guests are within walking distance of the PX, commissary and welcome center. The Hotel offers a complimentary hot breakfast, internet access, laundry facilities, fitness center, business center, weekly social and a kitchenette in each room. The Holiday Inn Express on Fort Wainwright is a pet-friendly hotel. Please call about pet fees and policies.

You must obtain your TLA authorization within your first five (5) days of arrival to Fort Wainwright. TLA is authorized in ten-day increments and you must provide proof of an aggressive housing search to be validated by the HSO at the end of each 10-day period. A maximum of twenty (20) days can be authorized to locate and secure a rental agreement or offer of housing from NHC that you are expected to occupy within a maximum of sixty (60) days from the date you signed in to Fort Wainwright. Failure to secure the rental agreement/NHC offer within the initial 20 days (which must provide a move in date less than 60 days from your sign in date) will result in termination of TLA at the ten (10) day point.

Facility Overview

Whether you are coming to Fort Wainwright TDY, relocating here permanently, or are just passing through, the Holiday Inn Express on Ft. Wainwright would like the opportunity to meet your lodging needs. Ninety non-smoking guest rooms with Complimentary hot breakfast, free laundry facilities, a business center, WI-FI, fitness center, shuttle, and weekly social. In the summer enjoy their playground, picnic areas and grills. Or stay inside with free movie rentals, board games, lending library or purchase a snack form the sweet shop.

Reservations

Whether PCSing in or out of Ft. Wainwright, or visiting us on TDY orders, we advise you to make reservations as soon as you know your date of arrival and departure. Space is extremely limited and we want to help you find the best accommodations to meet your needs. There is no need to wait for your orders to be issued, just be sure to have them available upon check-in. When making reservations; please make sure to provide information about any of your special needs to include: how many Family members, ages of children, pets, if you need a crib, accessibility needs, etc. The staff at the Holiday Inn Express on FT. Wainwright will try to accommodate your needs as much as possible.

Studio

The Holiday Inn Express on FT. Wainwright has 46 standard rooms available. At 300 square feet, these rooms provide a queen size bed, TV, DVD player, high speed internet access, private bath with hair dryer, workstation, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, iron with ironing board, kitchenette, and voice mail.

Family Suites

Need a little extra space? The Holiday Inn Express on FT. Wainwright offers 44 spacious, 450 square feet Suites. Like standard rooms, Suites offer a queen size bed, TV, DVD player, high speed internet access, private bath with hair dryer, workstation, microwave, medium refrigerator, coffee maker, iron with ironing board and voice mail. In addition, these suites offer a separate living area with a full size sofa sleeper and kitchenette. A limited number of connecting rooms are also available.

Pets

A non refundable pet fee of 75.00 is charged for the first 5 nights and 10.00 per night beginning on the 8th night. Pet agreement must be signed at check in. Maximum 80 lbs limit per pet. Please call the hotel directly for more details on our pet policy.

Business Center

The lobby of the Holiday Inn Express on Ft. Wainwright features a no-fee business center with two work stations and printers. Guests can also enjoy an oversized fireplace, comfortable seating areas and beautiful Native Alaskan artwork throughout the lobby.

Complimentary Breakfast

Enjoy a hot complimentary breakfast each morning in the lobby. Breakfast is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Saturday, Sundays and Holidays from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Social

The Holiday Inn Express on FT. Wainwright hosts a weekly social downstairs in the breakfast area. All guests are welcome every Wed from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
