A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good. This program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.
The Lending Closet has many basic household/kitchen items to assist in your transition while you are waiting for shipment of your household goods. We offer items such as pots, pans, dishes, coffee pots, toasters, utensils, vacuum cleaners, irons and ironing boards, microwaves and daylight therapy lamps.
We do not offer furniture items or linens (contact the North Haven Housing Office at 907-356-7108 for details). Please bring your own sheets, towels and pillows.
Lending Closet services are provided to arriving and departing personnel.
Incoming and outgoing personnel may borrow items up to 30 days. If at the end of the 30 days you are still waiting for your household goods, you only need to request an extension on your loan.
Using the Lending Closet will save you money. Check us out at the Welcome Center in Building 3401 on Santiago Road. Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or call 907-353-4333/7908.
You must provide a valid military identification card to borrow items from the Lending Closet.
For additional information please visit the U.S. Army Alaska website or view the Lending Closet brochure.
