Policies and rules for shipping pets vary at each installation. It’s important to understand the regulations, prohibitions and laws at your new installation before moving with a pet. Below, you’ll find installation-specific details for registering, boarding and transporting your pet.
Travel with a pet can be challenging unless you plan ahead. Talk to your local veterinarian about the safest and most comfortable travel for your pet; whether by train or car. See the United States Department of Agriculture Pets website to ensure the pet's comfort and safety.
Pets do not have to be quarantined on arrival in the eastern United States. Information on bringing pets back to the United States can be found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Animal Importation website.
Hanscom Air Force Base does not offer pet boarding. There are local boarding facilities. In the summer the kennels get busy, so make sure to have reservations early.
