If you get married before you PCS, you must inform your commander or first sergeant, as well as your assignment counselor at the MPF, so your assignment information can be updated to “with dependents”. There are other procedures that must be complied with so that your new dependent(s) can be included on your PCS orders. It is important that you do this as the military will not pay for travel costs and housing of dependents if you do not follow proper procedures.
