Eligible members are Active Duty service members, Title 10 activated Guard or Reserve members, immediate family members of the previous two categories, a military retiree, or spouse/widow of a retiree. Go to http://www.afas.org/ to review eligibility, types of situations you can request assistance, and how to apply for a no-interest loan or grant. Once an application is complete, or if you have any questions, call the A&FRC at (801)777-4681 to make an appointment. For after-hours emergencies or travel that cannot wait until the next duty day, or if you are not within 50 miles of a military installation, or do not have reliable transportation, please contact the American Red Cross at 877-272-7337. Look for AFAS or other military relief agency locations at https://www.aerhq.org/Office-Locator.
