Resources are available to help you understand and manage your finances, including one-on-one financial counseling to assist you and your family with financial readiness. Services are designed to focus on money management issues throughout your active-duty lifecycle and into retirement. Financial readiness educational opportunities range from basic planning to long-term investing. Check out the information below to see what’s available at your installation.
The Military & Family Readiness center offers financial counseling, education, as well as situation-specific information and referral to active duty, reserve, retirees and their dependents. Financial counselors are available to provide assistance in creating customized spending plans, assisting with credit report problems, creating a plan for saving and investing, retirement planning, etc. We offer educational workshops such as reducing debt, saving and investing, marriage and finances, money and kids, planning for retirement, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) and Blended Retirement System (BRS), improving your credit score, car buying, and debt management to name a few. The Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) can provide emergency financial assistance to active duty service members, Title 10 activated Guard or Reserve service members, their spouse or other immediate family member with a special power of attorney, or the widow/widower of a retired service member in a time of need. Go to the Air Force Aid Society to review eligibility information, types of situations for which you can request emergency financial assistance, and how to apply.
