If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The Education Center provides services to active duty soldiers and their families, DA civilian employees, Reserve Component, ROTC units, and retirees. In addition to the Main Education Center, there is one satellite learning center on Hunter Army Airfield, located in unit work area. Programs offered include, but are not limited to: counseling services available to help establish goals, determine education requirements, and identify educational institutions; review funding options; assistance with initiating application and evaluation process.

Study materials are available for Armed Forces Classifications Test (AFCT), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), and ECEP.
The Army Continuing Education System (ACES) provides education assistance worldwide to benefit soldiers. The ACES vision is to create and lead the Army's premiere education organization committed to excellence, innovation and deployability. Participation in ACES is critical for FORCE XXI professional and personal development.
Practice and advisement tests are available to asses or familiarize examinees with test form and content. GED prep classes are also offered. Testing Office proctors exams for independent study courses, make-up test for on-post colleges and various certification examinations.
