Privatized Housing
You may apply for on post housing at https://www.hunteraafhomes.com or apply in person at the Hunter AAF Homes Leasing Office at 1 Gannam Avenue upon arrival if you are eligible. The date of your application will be the date you signed out of your last duty station if you apply within 30 days of signing into Hunter Army Airfield. It is important to provide necessary documentation such as a copy of assignment orders to Hunter Army Airfield, proof of dependants, marriage certificate, birth certificate, divorce papers etc. when you apply for on-post housing.
Single Service Member Housing
Bachelor Personnel -- for E-5 and below the following policy and procedures have been established for a single or unaccompanied service members or E-5 and below who may be authorized to reside in off post housing and draw BAH at the "without dependents" rate:
Procedures to Obtain CNA and Financial Entitlements --Prepare memo for CNA request and have it signed by the Commander for validation and approval. Fax the request to the UPH Manager for processing to 912-315-4734. Make sure you include a return fax number on the memo. Upon receipt of CNA, submit an additional memorandum to the Major Subordinate Commander (MSC) requesting permission to reside off-post.
Documents required by Finance are: CNA, DA 4187, Memo approved by MSC, DA 5960, PCS orders and Amendments, DA 1351-2 for DLA or TLE (if applicable), original lodging receipts for TLE (if applicable).
Housing Referral Office---The HRO is your contact for any problems you may encounter such as discrimination complaints, tenant/landlord disputes, or any questions or problems about off-post housing is the HRO. The HRO will provide you a list of rentals with corresponding locator maps and give you information regarding the communities in which the rentals are located. All renters should carry renters insurance against fire, theft and other damages. The property owner's insurance will cover the property but not the renters personal property. If you are taking permissive TDY for house hunting, be sure to have your leave form (DA form 31) stamped by this office before starting permissive TDY. If not, you may be charged leave for that period.
