With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
Soldiers and Family Members on official (PCS) and temporary duty (TDY) orders to and from the installation have priority at Army Lodging on the Installation. Reservations can be accepted up to one year in advance. Limited rooms are available for Soldiers with pets at Army Lodging. There is a nonrefundable fee of $45 for pets and an additional charge of $3 per night per pet up to a maximum of 2 pets. Up to date veterinarian records are required when checking in. Single and unaccompanied Soldiers, E1 through E4, will be assigned to a room in the post barracks.
Army Community Service (ACS) Relocation Readiness offers a variety of services and resources to eliminate the stress associated with relocating. Stop by ACS and pick-up your Welcome Packet; it includes phone directories, maps, and local information. The Loan Closet has basic household items available for soldiers and families arriving or leaving HAAF while their household goods are in transit (please bring a copy of assignment orders and an ID card). We also offer a Newcomers EXPO that brings in agencies and organizations from on and off post to provide information on what is available in the Savannah area. ID card holders and their families are eligible to stay at Lodging. Orders are required for PCS moves. Families can stay up to 30 days when relocating. Extensions can be granted under special circumstances. Rooms for leisure travel can be reserved up to 14 days in advance; maximum stay is 7 days and can be extended if rooms are available. Soldiers/Families with official orders have priority.
Reservations may be made 60 days in advance and can be accepted up to one year in advance for Soldiers on orders. Guaranteed reservations must be confirmed by prepayment, credit card (MC, Visa, Discover, Diners Club), or personnel must be checked in before 1400 hours. Reservations Rooms are "space available" for leisure travel and availability changes depending on the season. Rooms for leisure travel can be reserved up to 14 days in advance.
Maximum Length of Stay
Families can stay up to 30 days when relocating but an extension can be granted under special circumstances. Maximum length of stay for leisure travel is 7 days and can be extended if rooms are available.
A limited amount of rooms are available at Army Lodging for soldiers with pets with a maximum of two. There is a nonrefundable fee of $45 for pets and an additional charge of $3 per night per pet. Up to date health and shot records are required when checking in plus cage. Some off-post hotels may accept pets for a nonrefundable fee. Make reservations ahead of time and make sure there are accommodations for your pet. Pets on the restricted list will not be allowed to stay at Army Lodging. Overseas Clearance/Special NeedsHAAF Lodging is handicap accessible. Call ahead to make sure a handicap accessible room is available for your stay. Baby beds and high chairs are provided at no charge upon request.
