Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling is located in Southeast Washington, D.C., adjacent to Interstate 295. JBAB has three installation entrances: Main Gate (Arnold Gate), South Gate (Visitor Gate) and Firth Sterling Gate. Visitors without a military identification card should report to the South Gate for installation access. Gate hours and access procedures are subject to change; personnel and visitors should verify current installation access requirements before arrival.
Defense Service Network Dialing Information
DSN provides long-distance communications service for the Department of War. Callers must use a DSN-capable military telephone to dial DSN numbers; commercial and cellular phones cannot directly dial DSN numbers. When calling between installations within the continental United States, the DSN area code generally does not need to be dialed. When calling to or from overseas DSN locations, the appropriate DSN area code must be included.

Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling is located in Southeast Washington, D.C. Personnel and families relocating to JBAB are encouraged to contact their sponsor prior to arrival and confirm current reporting, installation access and arrival procedures. Visitors who do not possess a valid Department of War identification card should follow current JBAB visitor access procedures.
Due to the installation’s location within the National Capital Region, personnel should allow additional travel time when arriving during peak commuting periods. Gate operating hours and installation access procedures are subject to change. Newcomers should verify current information before traveling to the installation.
