School Age Care

Before & after school care, school holiday care, and summer camp. The program is accredited through the Council on Accreditation (COA) and certified by Department of Defense (DoD)

The School Age Program is open to children enrolled in kindergarten through 6^th grade, of active duty military, DoD civilians (NAF & APF), reservists on active duty or during inactive duty training. Children of DoD contractors & retired military are eligible on a space available basis.

DoD sets fee regulations for the SAC Care. Fees are based on total family income and apply to all children who attend the program on a regular basis. The fees include meals, snacks and field trips. Total family income is reviewed annually and fees are adjusted accordingly.

Open Recreation

Open to youth ages 9-18 (still in high school). Open on school days, 1400-1800, an on non-school days, 1300-1800. activities and programs are provided that improve and maintain the physical and mental well-being of youth.

The YP facility has a full sized gym; game room with pool table, foosball, video games, snack bar and school-age care wing. We also have an outdoor play area, basketball court and three baseball/softball fields. For further information, contact the Youth Center at 406-731-4634.

Youth Programs

Malmstrom Youth Programs provides opportunities for youth to develop their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive abilities and by participating in high yield, quality programming activities in character and leadership development, education, sports and recreation, the arts, and health and wellness.
There is a wide variety of services and activities for children and youth ages 5 to 18 such as:

• School Age Care, consisting of before and after school care and summer and winter day camps
• outdoor adventure camps
• sports leagues and fitness (special sports development programs such as Start Smart)
• teen programs
• family programs

Youth Sponsorship Program

Youth Sponsorship helps incoming youth to become familiar with their new home in Montana and connects outbound youth with sponsors to their gaining base. Sponsors are matched to youth according to their gender, age and interests.

The sponsors escort incoming youth around the post, school area and the Child and Youth Program Centers. They introduce the new arrival to others within their age/grade level and to the various activities. Youth Sponsorship helps to build life skills and leadership.
