When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
One of the first things military personnel must attend to upon their arrival at the air station is checking in. New arrivals must take their original orders to their command to be endorsed before visiting the Installation Personnel Administration Center, or IPAC, building 807. If checking in after working hours or on the weekend, check in with the air station officer of the day, or OOD, in building 601, Marine Corps Air Station Headquarters, duty desk.
Personnel checking in must also attend the Welcome Aboard Brief which is facilitated by the Information & Referral Program. The Welcome Aboard brief provides installation information, maps, program directories and more. Please note that personnel in the grades of E-1 through E-6, WO-1 and O-1 through O-2 must attend the mandatory Welcome Aboard Brief (Settling In Services) in accordance with MCO 1754.10A. Spouses are welcome and encouraged to attend. Marine Corps Community Services South Carolina provides use of the Lending Locker where personnel can borrow household items to include air mattresses, tables and chairs, kitchen items, and more.
