Checking In

New arrivals must take their original orders to their command to be endorsed before visiting the Installation Personnel Administration Center, Building 807. If checking in after working hours or on the weekend, check in with the Air Station Officer of the Day in Building 601 at Marine Corps Air Station Headquarters duty desk.

Learn important information about the base and surrounding area during the Welcome Aboard Brief. The brief is available to military personnel and spouses when they check-in with Information, Referral & Relocation (IR&R). Receive a personal Welcome Aboard Brief anytime during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, without an appointment.

Personnel in the grades of E-1 through E-6, WO-1 and O-1 through O-2 must attend the mandatory Welcome Aboard Brief (Settling in Services) in accordance with MCO 1754.10B. Spouses are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Personnel

MAG-31 Personnel: All military personnel with orders to MAG-31 should check in with the MAG-31 S-1, located in Building 1252. Squadrons that fall under MAG-31 include MALS-31, VMFA-312, VMFA(AW)-224, VFMA(AW)-533, and VMFAT-501. For more information, call 843-228-7312, DSN 335-7312.

H&HS Personnel: All military personnel with orders to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron should check in with the Station S-1, located in building 601, Room 125B. For more information, call 843-228-7121, DSN 335-7121.

MWSS-273 Personnel: All military personnel with orders to Marine Wing Support Squadron 273 should check in with the Station S-1, located in building 601, Room 125B. For more information, call 843-228-7121, DSN 335-7121.

CLC-23 Personnel: All military personnel with orders to Combat Logistics Company 23 should check in with their respective units in Building 614. For more information, call 843-228-8511. 

MACS-2, Det. A Personnel: All military personnel with orders to Marine Air Control Squadron 2, Det. A, should check in with their respective units in Building 662. For more information, call 843-228-6798, DSN 335-6798.

Before you begin your travel keep these things in mind:

• Ensure you have all vehicle insurance and registration information handy.
• Have your vehicle checked for road worthiness before you begin your trip. Check all fluids, tires and gas.
• Families should ensure they have snacks and small toys to entertain children, as well as a change of clothes for unexpected mishaps.
• Ensure you have cash, checks and/or credit cards that you will need when traveling.
• Let someone know what route you will take in case of problems on the road.
• Make temporary lodging reservations. Patrons are emcouraged to make reservations early, due to limited availibility.

Inform your unit that you have married, prior to arrival.
