Relocation Assistance

Your Military and Family Support Center provides relocation assistance to help make PCS moves as smooth as possible. Resources include:

• PCS planning: Most relocation assistance programs offer consultations to help you with the moving process. If this your first military move, your first time moving overseas or you have challenging or complex circumstances contact your installation Relocation Assistance Program as soon as possible for support.
• Plan My Move: An online Defense Department relocation tool that provides you with customizable checklists and links to helpful resources for the tasks ahead.
• Military OneSource: A website and call center that offer 24/7 support for moving information and resources. Learn more about PCS basics. For comprehensive moving resources and information, including Defense Personal Property log in details, visit Moving Your Personal Property.
• Workshops and briefings: Workshops vary by location. You may find classes on housing options, moving with children, moving with pets and more.
• Predeparture briefings: These sessions provide essential information about your move and may be required for some populations.
• Special needs: If you have a child or family member enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program, contact your installation EFMP-Family Support office to assist you.
• Settling-in services: Look for welcome programs or local area tours that may be offered. Overseas services may include introductory language classes and cultural awareness activities.
• Foreign-born spouse support: Assistance includes information and referral to resources such as immigration and naturalization.
• Emergency assistance: Sometime emergencies occur while moving. The Military and Family Support Center has the resources to provide emergency financial assistance, as well as information and referrals.
• Authorized housing flexibility options: Eligible service members with PCS orders may be entitled to flexibilities such as extended stays in government housing and early housing eligibility. Contact your military personnel office for more information.
• Spouse licensure reimbursement: Your service branch may reimburse spouses up to $1,000 for relicensure and certification costs resulting from relocations or PCS moves. Relocation Assistance

Relocation Assistance is designed to help make your move as smooth as possible, offering a variety of services to support Marines and their families during the transition to a new duty station. Relocation support includes:

• Housing - Det help finding on-base or off-base housing, temporary lodging, and understanding your options.
• Local Area Information - Access guides and insights on the local community, including schools, healthcare, and recreational activities.
• PCS Workshops - Attend workshops covering the entire relocation process. Receive guidance on budgeting for your move, managing expenses, and planning for financial stability during the relocation process.
• Request a Sponsor - Connecting with a sponsor at your new installation is an important step for a successful transition.
• Lending Locker Access - Borrow essential household items like kitchenware and small appliances while waiting for your household goods to arrive.

Lending Lockers
The lending locker is for active-duty Marines and families needing household items temporarily. Items available may include:

• Cots
• Irons & Ironing Boards
• Coffee Makers, Toasters, & Microwaves
• Dishware & Kitchen Utensils
• Folding Tables and Chairs
• Pack-n-Play
• And More

When checking items out of the Lending Locker, please bring the following:

The Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Workshop is designed to guide Marines and their families through every step of the relocation process. Whether it's your first move or one of many, our workshop provides valuable insights and resources to help you transition with ease.

Nine reasons to attend a PCS Workshop:

1. It’s Mandatory - Per MCO 1754.10B, attending the PCS Workshop is required for a smooth transition to your new duty station.
2. Installation-Specific Information and Contacts - Get valuable information about your new installation, including key contacts and local services.
3. Household Goods Weight Allowances & Entitlements - Learn about your weight allowances for household goods and what entitlements you can access during your move.
4. Travel Allowances, Budget, and Government Card - Understand your travel allowances, how to budget for the move, and how to use your government travel card.
5. Moving with Pets - Receive guidance on transporting pets, quarantine regulations, and other related requirements.
6. School Liaison & Exceptional Family Member Program Resources - Access support for school enrollment and resources for family members with special needs.
7. Spouse Employment Opportunities - Discover job search assistance and career development resources for spouses.
8. Personalized Relocation Plan & Online Relocation Resources - Create a customized relocation plan and explore online resources to streamline your move.
9. Request a Sponsor - As per MCO 1320.11H, learn how to request a sponsor to help you adjust and settle into your new duty station.

Welcome to your new installation! The Welcome Aboard Brief is designed to provide key information and resources to ensure a smooth transition for you and your families. During this brief, you will receive important updates on life at the base and how to access resources and services.

Topics discussed will include:

• Base Services and Amenities
  Overview of essential services, such as medical facilities, commissary, exchange, and fitness centers.
   
• Relocation Assistance
  Guidance on housing, transportation, and accessing resources through the Relocation Assistance Program (RAP).
   
• Childcare and School Information
  Details on childcare options, school enrollment, and youth programs to support your family.
   
• Sponsorship and Family Readiness
  Introduction to the Sponsorship Program and Family Readiness Officers (FRO) for ongoing support and connection to your new community.

Childcare: Hourly drop-in childcare for children ages 5 and under is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
