A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
Child and Youth Programs focus on the needs of families in order to provide maximum access to useful, flexible, and affordable programs such as child development, social, recreation, and athletic programs. Children, youth and teens shall be served in integrated, balanced, quality programs that support the continuum of the Marines and Navy families, on and off base. Open recreation at the youth center which offers “fosse ball”, pool tables, video games, hand hockey tables, etc. Computer labs are available to assist with homework assignments and expansion of youth’s computer skills. Skill development classes such as field trips, dances, lockdowns, bowling events, pizza parties, etc. Child and Youth Programs can be reached through the San Diego Metro Fleet and Family Readiness Programs.
At Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego - Marine Corps Community Services and Family Care have joined forces to offer and sponsor an ever-expanding menu of sports and activities for the Depot's teens and youth. From basketball and flag-football to cheerleading and dance there are year-round opportunities for all to participate in team or individual activities that provide confidence-building and health benefits, of course, but also the chance to make friends, share experiences and have fun and good times. Housing Recreation Centers
Navy Region Southwest MWR Youth Programs Department operates eight housing area recreation centers and offers a wide variety of recreation programs for children ages three to seventeen. Some of these programs include open recreation, contract classes, field trips, teen programming, building rentals and special events.

Youth Employment
Teenagers looking for employment opportunities should visit the Career Resource Management Center Bldg 14 at Marine and Family Programs Personal & Professional Development Service Center. The CRMC has job postings in many different fields, offering full-time and part-time positions.
You may wish to use the computers in the CRMC to write letters of introduction and update your resume.
The CRMC has an extensive employment resource library, and the staff will be pleased to assist you in your job search strategies.
