Installation libraries play a key role in Marine professional life. They offer academic and research resources and chances for career development. Marines can earn college degrees and certificates. They can update promotion packages, prepare to transition, retire and more.
Installation libraries are great for leisure too. They provide books, magazines, newspapers, eBooks, DVDs and audiobooks. Most locations also offer access to computers, internet and basic office equipment like copiers and fax machines.
And installation libraries can be great community centers. They host book clubs, story times, game nights, and multicultural activities. Some offer Makerspaces, and private webcam access for video calls with deployed service members. Programs vary so check by installation library for details.
Marines and their families also have online access to the Marine Corps Community Services Digital Libraries and the Navy Digital Library.
